RipShout is a program written to read a ShoutCast MP3 stream from Internet radio stations and rip the songs to MP3 files on the the user's PC, and write their IDv3 tag.  While recording, RipShout can play the songs through it's internal mp3 player or append the songs to Winamp's playlist.

I wrote RipShout because all the other programs that claimed to offer this functionality either didn't work or charged you a lot of money and also didn't work.

I listen to web radio while I work and like to be able to grab songs I like throughout the day.  RipShout is freeware, contains no ads or spyware and has about a 3 megabyte RAM footprint while recording.

You have 3 ways to open a stream in RipShout.
1.) Click the ShoutCast link on your radio station's page and open it with RipCast.
2.) Right-Click and "Copy Shortcut" on the ShoutCast link and then paste that link into the bottom text box in RipShout. Then click "Rip Music"
3.) Or you can Right-Click and "Save As" on the ShoutCast link to download the .pls file.  You can then click "Browse" in RipShout, select the file and then click "Rip Music".

RipShout works with Windows 2000, XP, and Vista.  It requires the .Net 3.5 framework from Microsoft.  It's free, lets you run other cool free software and comes with newer versions of Vista.  The installer will point you in the right direction if you don't have it.
